Pic = 14 years ago this month - our first equipment shipment an 1800sf gym
This post has 2 purposes
1. GRATITUDE
I am so grateful for all members past and present. Thank you so much for allowing us to be a small part of your daily life. Thank you for your support, effort, friendship and the immeasurable list of all the contributions you have made over the years. I truly hope we have made some positive impact on your life. THANK YOU.
I would love to hear your best stories and memories in the comments
Thank you so much to all the coaches both past and present. This is truly a labor of love and service to others and I know that time spent on the floor here makes a difference in the lives of members. SO MUCH has changed since this picture, both in my world AND in the world as a whole, but our staff remains steady is our passion and mission for the gym. THANK YOU.
2. WORDS OF WISDOM
At this point, CFC has coached over 1,500 members and I have coached close to 10,000 classes.
I have seen so many members come and go and ebb and flow through peaks and valleys. Here is what has boiled down to what keeps members making progress, successful, and happy at the gym LONG TERM!
HAVE FUN
you have to smile, laugh, and enjoy yourself! This is a place to let go and release your stress - the outside world is stressful enough!
DO NOT take this too serious - keep it light/fun and you will not burnout!
ATTITUDE OF LONGEVITY
let’s do this FOR LIFE - this is not a “phase” or “quick fix”, but part of who we are and what we do
Persistence > Intensity
don’t catch “feelings” - limit emotional attachment to to your workouts
COMMUNICATE WITH COACHES!
Please - Please - Please tell us what is going on with you - We need to know how you are doing!
open and consistent line of communication with your coach
Body, progress, life - we need to know!
No pain, no gain is not an effective approach
SUPPORT OTHERS and be friendly to all
energy invested in others will always be returned exponentially in some way
CONSISTENCY TRUMPS EVERYTHING!
It is vital for physical and mental momentum - move the dirt, some days with a spoon and some days with a shovel.
Training ebbs and flows with seasons of life - this is natural - keep moving!
Take personal accountability
for your results - “If it to be, it is up to me”
Take a look at the things YOU CAN CONTROL and put your effort there - What can YOU do
It is rarely the programming, other people, or many of the other factors that are “blamed” for lack of progress
PATIENCE
appreciation/love of the process
Accumulation of small, consistent victories
Everyone progresses at different rates - focus on YOUR path
RECOVERY
Obstacles to progress are usually rooted in habits OUTSIDE the gym
Sleep, nutrition, stress management, non “exercise” based movement
Listen to your body - motion is lotion, BUT sometimes backing off is 100% needed
MOVEMENT QUALITY
Mechanics → Consistency → Intensity
The best movers = highest level of fitness + greatest longevity
LOGGING
Measurable and repeatable
To know where to go, we must know where we have been!
You vs. you
Be COACHABLE !
don't let ego get in the way of progress
BUY-IN to COMPLETE
Service - Consistency - Purpose - Hunger
Trust that we are striving to serve, learn, and grow
The relentless and intelligent pursuit of well rounded fitness - programming
AGAIN, thank you to everyone for such an incredible journey over the last 14 years. Here is too many more!
We are HAPPY TO BE HERE and EAGER TO HELP!
